The island of Menorca (Minorca) is situated next to Mallorca in the Balearic Island Archipelago. This popular European tourist destination features some great beaches, tourist attractions, restaurants and hotels.

Much less commercial than nearby Palma de Mallorca, the towns on Menorca are relatively quiet.

Menorca is world renown for its natural beauty. More than 75% of the island's landmass has been protected from development. Consequently, visitors can enjoy its wildlife, birds and native turtles.

Inexpensive flights are available to Menorca's Mahon Airport. Ferry service to Mahon (Mao) is also available from Barcelona, Valencia and from Mallorca.

There are many great hotels and resorts on the island. The town of Ciutadella and the capital city of Mahon offer a wide range of accommodation.

The weather in the Balearic Islands is pleasant around the year. Menorca enjoys a Mediterranean climate with plenty of sunshine.
